The current situation in Iraq seems better than before. The amount of war and fights has decreased, but are still immense. George W. Bush agreed that all American troops remove from Iraq cities by June 2009 and from the entire country by 2011. The new president, Barack Obama did not disagree to this new agreement; although he is considering, a slightly slower pace of removing troops from the country. But until then, the Iraq government will have much more control in combat operations, detentions of prisoners and even prosecutions of American soldiers for grave crimes. Overall, this proves that slowly the Americans want to make their way back out of the country, and leave the Iraqi alone.

Felix,
Good summary of the important points in the article. I am suprised that Obama's administration would be slower to pull out of Iraq than Bush's was. I wonder why this is.
Why do you think the Americans want out? Do you have a feeling for which is better for the Iraqi people?
I think this is an interesting question, because as both the film and book we read suggest, freedom can be as dangerous as captivity.

woo good job felix :D
you gave a good overview about what had happened in the past and what was happening now. you contrasted the actions of Obama and Bush, and showed that you had done a good amount of research :)
You gave dates and left the site article name, so that we can see for ourselves and judge the article as well. this shows that what you wrote wasn't just made up stuff, but that you actually read what the article said, and analyzed it.
Felix,
I agree with MD about the important points that you have summarized in this article. Similar to MD I am surprised that Obama has decided to act slower than Bush himself, since this was one key point during Obama's campaign.
However, the thing, i found in my article, which was from yesterday and by the New York Times, is that Obama wants to leave 50.000 troops in Irak until 2010 out of the 140.000 tropps which are currently in Iraq.
Many representatives of several States such as California have said that they want to hear the justification to why Obama leaves the 50.000 troops in Iraq since these would be possible victims of terrorists.
Overall, I think your article was a great choice.
Yours Sincerely
NN :)
